Sharing stories of isolation in Now Wash Your Hands

Radio 4 has launched a new show and podcast in which comedians will share stories of their isolation under the coronavirus shutdown.

Those taking part in Now Wash Your Hands include David Baddiel, Miranda Hart, Rufus Hound, Rachel Parris, Marcus Brigstocke, Matt Lucas, Tez Ilyas and Mel Giedroyc.

A team of presenters will virtually ‘drop in’ on the homebound comics who aren’t able to do their usual shows ‘and simply have nothing better to do other than talk over their dodgy internet connections’.

The show is compiled and hosted by Jon Holmes (pictured), Salma Shah, Jake Yapp and Natt Tapley, and made by Unusual Production

The first episode will be available on BBC Sounds from Thursday and will air on Radio 4 at 11pm.

Mini bonus episodes will also be available on BBC Sounds, with accompanying video clips on social media.

LA PRINCESA DE WOKING

Emma Sidi has taken great care to replicate the authentic feel of 1980s Spanish-language telenovelas in this spot-on parody, set in contemporary small-town England and which she describes as 'a bit Acorn Antiques, bit Garth Marenghi'.

At her mother's untimely funeral, Becky Hello (a typical British millennial as imagined by Mexican writers who have never been to the UK) discovers she has inherited a fortune. But it isn't long before nefarious family members begin to circle, and Becky must keep her wits about her if she is to avoid the same fate as her mother.
