Comic films a cameo appearance
Russell Brand has joined the cast of Neighbours for a cameo appearance.
Soap actress April Rose Pengilly revealed the comic had been on the set, posting a photo from Harold's Cafe on Instagram.
She wrote: ‘A hefty "thank you" to @russellbrand for coming and shooting a scene for the show today! I’m a big fan of his work, so was just a lil’ bit excited 😸 @neighbours.'
Tim Robards, another star of the show, also shared a photo of himself with Brand, captioned: ‘Cat’s out the bag.’
Brand tweeted a picture of himself holding a script for the show and a Ramsey Street sign, and quoted the show’s theme song: ‘Next door is only a footstep away.’

He joins a list of stars who have made cameos on the show, including Clive James; who played a postman, David Walliams and Matt Lucas, who revived their Little Britain characters Lou and Andy; and Tim Vine, who played a lost tourist.
Brand is currently touring his Recovery stand-up show down under.
