THE COCKFIELDS: Joe Wilkinson, Diane Morgan, Sue Johnston, Bobby Ball, Nigel Havers and Sarah Parish star in this new three-part sitcom. Stripped over three nights, it tells of Simon's (Wilkinson) 40th birthday party, for which he's taken his new girlfriend Donna ( Morgan) back home to the Isle of Wight for the first time to spend a long weekend with his doting mother Sue (Johnston), her small-minded husband Ray ( Ball) and celebrity-obsessed stepbrother David (Ben Rufus Green). But Simon's father Larry (Havers) and his new girlfriend Melissa ( Parish) are creating tension. Wilkinson also wrote the show with David Earl, the character comic known as Brian Gittins on the circuit. Gold, 10pm

It was the pair's first stage appearance for decades, and they talk about their career heyday as well as Large's health problems. He died earlier this year, aged 78, after contracting coronavirus.
