Head Hunter to run daily across six weeks

Rob Beckett is to host a new BBC daytime quiz show, Head Hunters.

The show will run for every weekday afternoon for six weeks with each episode starting with a pool of 20 contestants.

In the final round, the winning ‘Head Hunter’ must answer a question correctly from nine categories, in 90 seconds. They can choose whether to recruit other contestants to help them, offering them a share of the jackpot to try to entice them on board

The comic said: ‘When I was first approached about Head Hunters I was slightly worried that it might be a reality TV hunting show, and I would be shot by an ivory poacher. Luckily for me, it’s a brilliant quiz show that I get to host.

"It’s my first time hosting a quiz and I can’t wait to get stuck in. We will definitely have some laughs along the way as our Head Hunters bid, banter and sometimes offend their opponents in what promises to be an exciting new BBC quiz.’

Beckett previously hosted the cancelled game show Wedding Day Winners, and fronts the Saturday night hit All Together Now. He is also the regular team captain on E4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats.

Head Hunters will be filmed at BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay by independent production company Tuesday’s Child Scotland.

BBC commissioning editor Jo Street added: ‘If knowledge has a price, how much will our Head Hunters be worth? £15,000? £1,500? Or £1.50? Every episode of Head Hunters will be different - some quizzers could be offered huge amounts by each other, some could be offensively small. Either way, Head Hunters will deliver BBC One daytime viewers fun and games throughout."

And executive producer Karen Smith said: ‘Rob is the perfect host - there’s plenty for him to get his teeth stuck into."’
