Could you judge the 2019 Edinburgh Comedy Awards?

The hunt is on for public panellists

The Edinburgh Comedy Awards has launched its annual hunt for comedy fans to join its judging panel.

Whoever is chosen will get to attend the Fringe for free, then expected to see six shows a day to give their opinions.

Tashi Radha, who was a public panellist last year, said: ‘I watched about 120 shows during the festival and I saw so much great comedy.

‘You get to see such a diverse range of acts from all across the wonderfully broad spectrum of comedy. It’s a busy schedule and you eat, sleep and breathe comedy but that’s what I loved about it. I got to meet some brilliant people and made some great friends.’

Applicants need to explain in  350 words why they are the best candidate and write three short reviews, of no more than 150 words each, about their three favourite live comedy acts.

Submit entries to assistant@comedyawards.co.uk by noon on April 12.

The winner must be over 18 and available for an interview in London on May 1 or 3, and to stay in Edinburgh from August 7 to 24.
