Brooklyn Nine-Nine gets a seventh season

NBC renews cop comedy

US cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been renewed for a seventh season.

The new run will be its second on the NBC network, which snapped up the rights after Fox axed the show.

In a statement, Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming at NBC Entertainment, said: ;’t’s been one of our great joys as a network to give Brooklyn Nine-Nine a second life’

The series says stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz and Terry Crews; but Chelsea Peretti left early into current sixth series.

It is attracting 3.9 million viewers when catch-up within seven days is counting, more than it had on Fox, and is said to be a particularly strong performer on demand.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs on E4 in the UK
