Sky orders two more series of The Russell Howard Hour
Sky One has commissioned a third and fourth series of The Russell Howard Hour.
Fourteen new episodes will go into production in the autumn, the broadcaster has announced, with the fourth series expected the following year.
The news comes as the second series still has six more episodes to air. This current run began in November with 170,000 viewers tuning in to the opening episode – but producers Avalon particularly herald its success on social media, claiming more than 100million views for clips since the series launched in 2017.
Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s head of entertainment said: ‘Russell has established himself as one of the foremost satirical voices on TV and online. We are happy as hell that he has a home on Sky One where he can bring our audiences his unique and hilarious take on our messed up world.’
Howard added: ‘I absolutely love doing this show. It's such a ridiculous privilege that I get to write jokes as the world spins out of control.’
