Outrage over sale of Ken Dodd's funeral memento

Ebay seller wanted £50 for order of service

An eBay seller has been forced to take a souvenir of Sir Ken Dodd's funeral off sale after provoking outrage.

Fans of the comedian branded it ‘sick’ and ‘disgusting’ that someone was profiting by trying to sell the order of service from his memorial at Liverpool Cathedral earlier this year.

The seller was demanding £50 for what they called a ‘programme’ from the funeral, which was attended by thousands of fans, family and friends.

Fans expressed their outrage online. One wrote: ‘This is disgusting, some people will do anything for money!’, another said: ‘So sad profiting from this, should be ashamed’ while another woman said: ‘Absolutely disgusting, he is sick.’

After the Southport-based seller, with the user name ‘coolmaterial’, was exposed by the Liverpool Echo, they took the order of service off sale.
