Jungle Cruise blockbuster pushed back to 2020

Jack Whitehall’s big Hollywood break has been delayed.

The Disney family movie Jungle Cruise – in which he stars opposite  Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – has been put back nine months

Originally slated  for an October 2019 release, that date has now been pushed back to July 24, 2020.

Johnson revealed the new date on Twitter, promising that the movie would be ‘the adventure of a lifetime’.

Whitehall is to play the ‘hugely effete, very camp and very funny’ brother of Emily Blunt’s character in the film, which is based on a Disneyland ride.

However, some tweeters blasted Disney for not casting a gay actor in the role – as well as attacking the character as a stereotypical portrayal.

Shooting began on the film back in May.
