Comedy Central announces three-day stand-up festival

Plus attractions based on its hit shows

Comedy Central is going into the festival business – announcing a three-day stand-up event headlined by Katherine Ryan, Russell Howard and Jimmy Carr.

The festival will also include the chance to watch some of the broadcaster’s shows live, including Your Face Or Mine, Drunk History and Roast Battle UK – while another area will be based around  attractions from South Park, Joel And Nish Vs The World and Takeshi’s Castle, where visitors can take on an inflatable obstacle course.

Other comics taking part in Comedy Central Live include Rob Delaney, Rob Beckett, Desiree Burch, Chris Ramsey, Joel Dommett, Nish Kumar, Iain Stirling, Luisa Omielan, Russell Kane, Dane Baptiste, Mo Gilligan, Phil Wang, Suzi Ruffell, Reginald D Hunter, Doc Brown and Lost Voice Guy.

It takes place in Hoglands Park, Southampton, on October 5, 6 and 7. Entry costs £22 a day, which includes a stage of emerging stand-up talent.

But the pro stand-up shows are extra, priced £13.20 for each of the three daytime stand-up shows, and £37 for the headline shows. Or it’s £90 a day to see everything, with a £150-a-day VIP option.

Comedy Central managing director Jill Offman said: ‘We are always looking for new ways to connect with our loyal audiences, so it only made sense for Comedy Central to launch one of the biggest comedy festivals the UK has ever seen.’
