Thanyia Moore takes stage awrd

Thanyia Moore, a South London actress and dancer as well as comedian, won tonight’s Funny Women stage award.

The 35-year-old was crowned at the Duchess Theatre in London's West End with Chloe Petts, a former BBC New Comedy Award contestant, and  Susan Riddell, who makes her solo debut at the Glasgow Comedy festival next month, runners-up.

The other finalists were Ashlee Bentley, Jodie Mitchell, Lily Phillips,  Amy Mason, Louise Young, Maisie Adam and Megan Shandley.

The comedy shorts award went to Cam Spencer her film Polly, which can be seen here.

Best Show was won by Naomi Sheldon’s Good Girl, which is currently on at London’s Trafalgar Studios. (Our review)

And the writing award went to former Times journalist  Alex Hardy for her script, Nosh.
