Learning AND laughing...

The week's comedy on demand

This week's comedy on demand:

Josh and Phil's Knowledge Club

A new six-part, allegedly educational, podcast series from English Comedian of the Year winner Josh Pugh (pictured) and gagsmith Phil Pagett. In each programme, the pair dissect a different topic with authority – if not necessarily knowledge, whatever the title promises – and joes. Episode one focuses on romance.

You're Doing It Wrong

Adam Buxton has a new radio show preying on listeners' fears that they might not be the perfect person living the perfect life.

Episode one featured work, asking whether 'dream jobs' really exist while this week's second instalment was about parenting. Do you rush to the cot every time your baby cries, or let her 'cry it out'? Does your toddler eat strictly rationed organic produce, or wherever he wants?

Understandably, given Buxton's dominance of the genre, the 15-minute programmes – of which there will be five in total –  are also available as podcasts, via iPlayer or your favourite podcast dealer.

Gad Elmaleh: American Dream

Arguably the the biggest comedian in France has released his first English language stand-up special on Netflix.

He'd previously recorded a French show for the streaming giant in Montreal, while American Dream was taped at the Town Hall Theatre in New York. It covers America's food obsessions, dating culture and the language barrier, among other topics.

Elmaleh has appeared in movies including Midnight In Paris, Priceless, and The Valet and is besties with Jerry Seinfeld, with the pair often appearing together on stage. For example, in this double-bill we reviewed at the Just For Laughs Festival last summer.
