Pleasance reveals more 2018 Fringe shows

Tape Face, Mr Swallow, Tim Key and Mark Watson are among a new batch of Edinburgh Fringe shows to go on sale tomorrow.

They have been named in an announcement from the Pleasance venue, which has preempted the next box office release by revealing some if its 2018 highlights.

They also include Strictly Come Dancing star Rev Richard Coles  – the former 1980s pop star turned vicar and broadcaster – who will be hosting a chat show at the Pleasance cabaret bar.

Nick Mohammed’s alter-ego Mr. Swallow returns in Mr Swallow And The Vanishing Elephant, a follow-up to his Houdini show at the 2016 Fringe.

In character, he said: ‘After much speculation, I have finally (temporarily) replaced Mr Goldsworth and Jonathan with an actual real-life elephant called Hayley. God help us all!’

Mohammed’s credits include the BBC and Netflix series Collateral, Ridley Scott’s The Martian, Bridget Jones’s Baby and  Ab Fab The Movie.

Tape Face – aka Sam Wills –  will be taking a break from the Vegas residency he secured on the back of his America’s Got Talent success to make a return to the 800-seat Pleasance Grand with a new show entitled simply The Tape Face Show.

Key plays the same venue with Megadate - a new 70-minute show, blending ‘poeticals, talking, standing, spotlights, cables, Kronenburg, foot-stamping and old school wistfulness’. And Paul Merton’s Impro Chums - including Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Lee Simpson and Mike McShane – will be there for ten shows from  August 9 to 18.

On August 22, Jayde Adams and Kiri Pritchard-McLean host a number of comedians paying tribute to their favourite West End hits in  Amusical.

Watson presents his new show The Infinite Show at Pleasance Forth at 7pm, while Craig Hill’s new show C’mon The Lads will be at Pleasance at EICC.

Newcomers include Catherine Bohart, whose debut solo hour Immaculate will be at the In Bunker Two.

Reginald D Hunter, mentalist Colin Cloud and Showstoppers! The Improvised Musical have previously been announced for the Pleasance.
