Trevor Noah announces first ever UK arena date

London gig in May

Trevor Noah as announced his first ever UK arena date.

The host  of The Daily Show will be playing London’s O2 Arena  for one-night only: Saturday May 19.

It will be the first time in two and a half years that Noah has performed in the UK, following a two-night run at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo in December 2015.

He said: ‘A lot has happened for me in the two years since I last performed in the UK, and by the looks of things quite a lot has been happening there too.

‘Brexit has inspired everybody else to go and screw up their own countries, a baby interrupting a BBC News interview gave us the greatest moment in the history of television, ever, and Jeremy Corbyn played Glastonbury.

‘I can’t wait to see what craziness goes down in the UK between now & May… I think we’ll have a few things to discuss!’

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.

This is the show that celebrated the launch of Nick Helm's album in 2016, and has previously been unseen by anyone who was not in the O2 Forum Kentish Town that night.

With typical hyperbole, the show is described thusly: 'Under-rehearsed, under-prepared and under pressure, Nick and his band somehow managed to pull together the greatest show in the last 27 years of living memory. That show went down as a thing of legend, often spoken about by weary travellers around campfires, but thought to have been lost to the sands of time forever.'
