Sky's new batch of female-directed horror shorts

Comics Andi Osho, Jessica Knappett and Evelyn Mok are among the stars of a new batch of comedy shorts being released by Sky Arts for Halloween.

This year's batch will be the first directed by an all-women line-up, as well as boasting predominantly female casts.

The trio of films has been curated by Catastrophe co-creator Sharon Horgan and producer Clelia Mountford, her partner in the Merman production company.

Horgan said: 'Finding strong female voices has always been important to us at Merman because there's still an imbalance there to address. To be able to champion these women through Sky's comedy shorts was a great opportunity.'

Sky's comedy chief Jon Mountague, who commissioned the shorts, added: 'This series of shorts has been created by a brilliant cohort of all-female directors who are bringing something new, exciting and refreshing to the comedy line-up on Sky. We hope to encourage more women to get involved with directing, writing and all technical roles in comedy.

The films be available exclusively on Sky on demand from October 23 and will then air on Sky Arts from October 31.
