...as it heads to cinemas

David Mitchell and Jo Brand have joined Peppa Pig as the cartoon heads to the big screen.

The comics have lent their voices to two new characters in an hour-long compilation of fresh episodes to be shown in cinemas next April.

Mitchell is Policeman Panda in the episode The Police and Brand voices Mrs. Crocodile in The Zoo.

Billed as Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience, it features nine episodes, including Peppa Visits London, featuring the Queen driving a double-decker bus, Canal Boat, Move to the Music and a four-part story in which Peppa goes to Australia to visit her friend Kylie Kangaroo.

The format has been designed for a preschool audience with children encouraged to sing, dance and play along between the episodes.
