Nominees announced for radio comedy awards
Tom Wrigglesworth, Josh Howie and Mae Martin are among the nominees for a prestigious radio comedy award.
Their Radio 4 shows have made the shortlist of the BBC Audio Drama Awards, which acknowledge creativity in the field. And despite their name, comedy is also included.
Nominated for best comedy with a live audience are:
- Josh Howie’s Losing It
- Mae Martin’s Guide to 21st Century Sexuality
- Mark Steel’s in Town
- Penny Dreadfuls Presents: Homer’s Odyssey by David Reed, Humphrey Ker & Thom Tuck
- Robert Newmans’ Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia Of Evolution
- Tom Wrigglesworth’s Hang Ups (which he wrote with James Kettle and Miles Jupp)
- The Pin by Alex Owen & Ben Ashenden
Up for best scripted comedy are:
- Couples by Julia Davis & Mark Wootton
- DOT: The Mystery at St. Horribly-Vulture’s School for Boys by Ed Harris
- Guilt Trip by Felicity Montagu, Olivia Nixon & Katherine Jakeways
- Lewis Macleod’s Wired News by John McGlade, Gabby Hutchison-Crouch, Neil Bratchpiece, Dale Shaw, Richard Cray, Steven Dick, Stuart Docherty, Stephen Holford, Kieron Nicholson, John Sheerman, Dan Sweryt, Stephen Mawhinney, Stu Cooper,

Winners will be announced in a ceremony at the BBC Radio Theatre on January 29, hosted by Sir Lenny Henry.
