Jamali Maddix befriends the extremists

...for a new TV show

Stand-up Jamali Maddix is to befriend extremists and racists for a new TV show.

The comic is to front six hour-long shows for the new Viceland channel, which is set to launch on Sky next month.

In Hate For Beginners, the 2014 Chortle Student Comedy Award winner will travel around Europe and America to investigate the extremists 'through a comedy lens'.

Other programmes lined up for the youth brand's launch include documentaries exploring extreme body art and Europe's party in difficult locations such as Ukraine.

Alex Miller, creative director of the new channel said: 'We’re launching with a slate that we think fulfils our goal: to make Viceland the most original and important TV channel for young people in the country.'

Maddix has previously appeared on The John Bishop Show and last month starred in a series of Channel 4 Comedy Blaps, Outsiders (below). He is currently performing his debut show, Chickens Come Home To Roost, at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Vice, the youth-orientated media company behind the new channel, already broadcasts in the States, but this is the first time it has been available in the UK.
