America to remake Raised by Wolves

Juno writer Diablo Cody works on scripts

Channel 4 comedy Raised By Wolves is being adapted for American TV by Diablo Cody, the writer of Juno.

In February we reported how co-creator Caitlin Moran let slip that a US remake was on the cards saying: ‘It kind of makes more sense there, because home education is much bigger there, and that whole prepping for the apocalypse thing that Della is doing, that’s massive there.’

Now The Guardian has reported that Moran and Cody have been in contact about reworking the action from Wolverhampton to the US.

Executive producer Kenton Allen, from programme-makers Big Talk, said on Twitter that he was ‘delighted to confirm it’s true – Raised by Wolves to be adapted for US’.

Columnist and author Moran created the comedy with her sister Caz based on their childhood memories and has run for 13 episodes over six series, starting  with a 2013 pilot.

The remake is being made by Berlanti Productions, whose credits include the less down-to-earth shows Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow.
