• After seeing comedian Rob Winston do well at a London gig, a woman in the audience went up to congratulate him... only to find it wasn't him but a doppelgänger who also just happened to be in the same room. What's more, it transpired that both lookalikes are comics; the other guy is called Kobi and performs stand-up in his native Israel. Who says comics all look the same these days?

My friend Rob (on the left), who is a stand-up comedian, met his doppelgänger last night. He was performing at a gig in London.I couldn't believe it when I saw the likeness. Same amount of stubble! Same hair style! Same glasses! They are, as far as we know, unrelated!

• Mel Brooks once made a sitcom pilot about Danny Baker. No, he wasn't predating Cradle To Grave, the BBC Two comedy based on the broadcaster's autobiography, but 'Danny Baker' just happens to be the name of a title character of a series Brooks wrote in 1963. Inside Danny Baker was based on a cartoon strip by William Steig, the creator of Shrek, called Dreams of Glory – which told of the Walter Mitty-like life of a young boy. • Chelsea Handler has come over a bit Donald Trump in her latest show – calling for Muslims to be singled out for special security checks at airports. • Comedy names including Frank Skinner, Diane Morgan, Olivia Colman and Steve Pemberton are among the 1,300 celebs who have put pen to paper for national charity Epilepsy Action – which is selling off the scribbles to raise money for its work. They will go under the hammer in a three-day eBay auction, starting next Friday.

• Order an Uber tomorrow night, and you could find yourself sharing it with a comedian. Stephen Bailey, Lou Saunders, John Robertson, Grainne Maguire, Trevor Lock and Will Franken will all be riding the company's new pool car service, cracking jokes to avoid the awkward silences sharing with strangers can often bring. It'll work for passengers selecting uberPOOL – the new service that lets you share the car with another rider heading the same way for a 25 per cent cheaper fare – between 2pm and 5pm.
