The Smartest Man in Glasgow

Proops joins festival line-up

Greg Proops is coming to the Glasgow International Comedy Festival to record an episode of his Smartest Man In The World podcast.

His involvement was revealed as the festival announced its 14th programme today.

Comics visiting the city between March 10 and 27 include Reginald D Hunter, Bridget Christie, Adam Hills, Paul Merton, Ardal O'Hanlon, Julian Clary, Rob Delaney, Jenny Eclair, Jerry Sadowitz, Russell Kane, Mark Watson, Dylan Moran and Richard Herring.

As previously reported on Chortle, Scot Squad's Grado and Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson – aka Jack Docherty – are both appearing in live shows at the Kings Theatre; as are Burnistoun creators Iain Connell and Robert Florence with their new show Uncles.

Frankie Boyle has recently added a third night to his run at the Clyde Auditorium as part of the festival, which will also feature appearances from the QI Elves, Mark Steel and Paul Sinha, among many others.

Venues include Bob Slayer's Blundabus, which will be parked at Candleriggs for the duration, the Govanhill Baths as well as more established sites such as The Stand Comedy Club and the Citizens Theatre.

Festival director Sarah Watson, unsurprisingly, called the programme 'our best line-up yet'. Visit the website for all the events.
