Lena Dunham's comedy series to end next year

Lena Dunham's comedy Girls is to end with one more series in 2017.

The comic has long said she believed that was the right time for the HBO show, executive produced by Judd Apatow, to end.

Now Hollywood website Deadline reports that network executives and the producers agreed to wrap up with one more season next year 'virtually unanimously'.

Dunham has previously said: 'I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world.'

Girls began in April 2012, and season 5 premieres in the States on February 21. All the series so far have been shown on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
