Channel 4 comedy gala back for a 7th year

First names announced

Channel 4’s Comedy Gala is to return for a seventh year.

Alan Carr, Kevin Bridges, Michael McIntyre, Russell Kane, Sean Lock, Seann Walsh and Shappi Khorsandi are the names so far announced for the mammoth line-up.

The gig takes place at London’s O2 Arena on May 6 next year, and will be broadcast on Channel 4 at a later date, with Alan Carr and Jimmy Carr again expected to ’hijack’ the ads shown in the breaks.

Created by the late agent Addison Cresswell in 2010, the benefit features the top acts from his Off The Kerb stable and raises money for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

It is billed as the biggest live stand-up show in the country and has so far raised more than £4million towards a new operating theatre.

Tickets for the live show go on sale on Friday,
