Names revealed for BBC Three's stand-up showcases

BBC Three has revealed the names of the comedians recording the new stand-up series Live From The BBC.

James Acaster, Dane Baptiste, Sofie Hagen, Adam Hess, Tez Ilyas, Nish Kumar, Alex Edelman and Felicity Ward will all be recording sets for the show.

Six half-hour episodes and one hour-long show will be recorded at the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House, Central London, this weekend. Executive producer Tilusha Ghelani said the location was 'a nod to the BBC's rich comedy heritage'.

The shows, to be made by Phil McIntyre Television, will be part of BBC Three's catalogue after it moves online next year.

BBC Worldwide, the corporation's business arm, is co-funding the show. Commercial director for comedy Jonathan Blyth described the show as 'a great way of nurturing the next Bishop, Hart or Fielding'.
