A tight 5: November 17

PETER KAY has promised a 'big announcement' about Phoenix Nights on November 27. The comic was asked about a comeback for the show during a charity Q&A in Blackpool over the weekend – and he replied 'I'll tell you a little secret, there's an announcement in 13 days.' It has previously been reported that Kay is to bring back his 2001 sitcom for a live stage show next year.

A BLUE PLAQUE is to be unveiled at Peter Cook's birthplace in Torquay tomorrow. The Torbay Civic Society has erected the memorial on the house in Middle Warberry Road where the comic was born in 1937.

BBC ONE mountain rescue comedy pilot Miller's Mountain has been crowned best comedy/entertainment programme at the Scottish Baftas, seeing off competition from Limmy's Show and Mrs Brown's Boys, which had both also been nominated.

MEANWHILE Citizen Khan was a double winner at the Royal Television Society North West Awards. The BBC One sitcom was crowned Best Comedy Programme for the second year running and star Adil Ray, won Best Performance In A Comedy, also for the second year running.

THE REST IS HISTORY, Frank Skinner's new comedy discussion series, has been given an air date. The six-part show starts on Radio 4 on Sunday December 14 with guests including David Baddiel, John Lloyd, Victoria Coren-Mitchell, David Mitchell, and Dave Gorman.
