Simpsons, Family Guy crossover revealed

It's Peter vs Homer!

The Simpsons and Family Guy characters will appear together in a crossover episode to air in the States in September, it has been confirmed.

The hour-long episode will air as an instalment of the Seth MacFarlane series, the Fox network announced.

The plot will revolve around the Griffins going on a road trip to Springfield and the two families bonding.

In one scene, Homer engages in a debate with his new 'albino' friend Peter regarding which beer is better, Pawtucket or Duff. However they come to blows and end up brawling in the street. In another scene, Stewie attempts to emulate Bart's skateboard skills – while Lisa takes Meg under her wing to find something – anything – at which she excels.

Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said at the network's upfront presentation in New York: 'Generations of fans will be talking about this one.'

The crossover was first announced back in September, but this is the first time details and images have emerged.
