Question of Sport spin-off for BBC One

Jason Manford is to host a spin-off from A Question Of Sport on BBC One.

The show – A Question Of Sport: Super Saturday – appears to have taken elements from Sky1's rival sporting quiz A League Of Their Own.

Of the new show, the BBC says: 'Team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell, will be joined by celebrity guests to play a series of physical games and challenges all with a sporting twist.'

One round pitches children against the team captains, with seven-year-old golfer Jayden Phipps, from Staffordshire, challenging them to a chipping and putting competition.

Manchester City fan Manford is recording the show at MediaCity in Salford on June 5.

He has previously appeared as a panellist in the regular show in 2011, and in a Sport Relief special the previous year.
