Russell Brand to discuss sex industry on C4

He has just announced he is writing children’s books – now Russell Brand is to be seen on TV talking frankly about his use of prostitutes.

The comedian is taking part in a two-part Channel 4 series called Love For Sale, in which actor Rupert Everett examines the sex industry.

Part One covers those who work as prostitutes, the second those who used them. These include a dominatrix’s client, a businessman who claims to have spent £150,000 on massage parlour prostitutes in two years and Brand.

The comedian has spoken openly in the past about being treated for sex addiction, and his encounters with prostitutes feature in his memoir, My Booky Wook.

Channel 4‘s Sara Ramsden, who commissioned the show from Swan Films, said: ‘Rupert has a unique authorial voice and his opinions range from the theological to the idealogical. It's great to see someone stand up so strongly for the dignity of women living with very difficult choices.’
