MEN BEHAVING BADLY writer Simon Nye has created a new sitcom set in a hotel. He said he had got some ‘good people’ lined up for the show, Private Parts, which he hopes will be picked up by the BBC. It is being developed by Hartswood Films, which has produced Nye’s previous shows Is It Legal? The Savages and Carrie & Barry – as well as Men Behaving Badly.

RADIO 4 has commissioned a full series of panel show Britain Versus The World, following a successful pilot that aired on New Year’s Eve. Ed Byrne returns as chairman in the show that pitches the Brits, led by Hal Cruttenden, against a global team led by Henning Wehn. THE comedy line-up for the Green Man festival in the Brecon Beacons on August 14 to 17 has been announced. Edward Aczel, Holly Burn, Jo Neary, Joe Lycett, Matt Rees, Pappy’s, Gareth Brand and Gemma Whelan will be performing. Meanwhile, Mitch Benn, Sean Hughes and John Hegley have joined the line-up of the Beverley Folk Festival in East Yorkshire on June 20 to 22.
