Posthumous airing for Lloyd Pack's comedy role

One of the last roles Roger Lloyd Pack recorded is to be heard later this month.

The actor, best known as Trigger in Only Fools and Horses, died in January from pancreatic cancer at the age of 69.

But shortly before his death he joined the cast of Radio 4 comedy Gloomsbury, set amid the literary Bloomsbury group. He replaced Nigel Planer, who left to star in the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical in the West End, and his involvement had not been announced until now.

Lloyd Pack said of his involvement in the show , which is returning for a second series,: ‘I’ve always been interested in the Bloomsbury set and I think it’s a rather brilliant idea to make fun of them as they lived in this extraordinary, slightly snobby bubble.”

In the show, he plays amorous gardener Gosling and Lionel Fox, a character possibly based on Virginia Woolf's husband Leonard.

The first episode of the series will be dedicated to him.
