JOHN OLIVER is to host the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York on November 25, it has been announced.

ALEXANDER Armstrong and critic Giles Coren, are to present an hour-long BBC Two show looking at the 12 Drinks Of Christmas. Giles says: 'This year, Xander and I are not just getting blotto at Christmas, we're looking into WHY we're getting blotto at Christmas, and how best to do it. We're seeking answers to the big cultural questions such as 'eggnog or mulled wine, dear?' and asking 'what would Jesus have drunk?'" Armstrong's wife Hannah Bronwen Snow is the sister of Giles Coren's wife, Esther Walker.

KATHY GRIFFIN is about to set a world record for the most comedy specials on American TV, when she records her 20th in San Antonio, Texas, laster this month. The show will air on Bravo in December.
