Buress bumped over a tweet?

Row over talk-show appearance

Hannibal Buress has claimed his appearance on a late-night US talk show was cancelled because of a tweet.

The comic had been due to appear on Craig Ferguson's The Late Late Show on CBS last night – but was pulled at the last minute.

'I was scheduled to do a set on Ferguson today but the show runner unbooked me because of this tweet' the comic posted on Twitter last night.

The comment he referred to was posted on Tuesday and stated: 'Yo @CraigyFerg last time I did your show you left set before I went on and I had an awkward fadeout situation.'

Buress' previous set was faded out before the Scottish-born host and stand-up addressed the audience with 'Got to go. Goodnight, everybody,' which may or may not have been taped beforehand.

'I don't know if Ferguson had anything to do with the situation. But it's pretty wack nonetheless' Buress added. 'I hope that it was all the producers doing and not Ferguson. If ferguson [sic] made that call it would be 10 times as wack.'

The Chicago Tribune also quoted the comic as saying: 'Also I didn't pursue them for a set at all. The booker asked me. I haven't done stand-up on late night in more than a year by choice. I'm more disappointed than angry. Unless my stream of Twitter facts gets me blackballed from late night, I'll do a set somewhere else soon.'

Ferguson sought to make amends by tweeting Buress, 'Hey. Just saw your tweet. That's bullshit. I'll fix it tomorrow. You are welcome on my show'. However, he has since deleted the post.

Buress, who struck a major deal with Comedy Central in May to make a sitcom pilot, hour-long comedy special and fund a nationwide stand-up tour, did appear on FX's Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell last night in a pre-recorded interview to promote a new series of The Eric André Show, which he co-hosts.

The former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock writer recalled how he had recently found himself defending Tina Fey's body shape and exercise regime to an ex-con.
