Lee Nelson triumphs in Let's Dance...

Lee Nelson has made it through to the final of Let's Dance for Comic Relief.

Judges Lee Mack, DJ Greg James and choreograper Arlene Phillips, voted to save the 'chav' alter-ego of comedian Simon Brodkin on Saturday night's show.

He performed a hip-hop version of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, starting with some impressive ballet moves before being joined by Britain's Got Talent stars Twist & Pulse for the modern twist.

Phillips told him: 'Your ballet was amazing. Must ballet dancers can't get down and dirty but you can get down and dirty.'

It is the second time Nelson has appeared in the competition, having performed Wham!'s Club Tropicana in 2011.

Nelson will be joined in this year's final by West End star Jodie Prenger, who won the people's vote. She stepped in at the last minute to perform Cameo's Word Up, replacing Boyzone's Keith Duffy who bowed out due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

Also in the show, Nina Conti danced to Nineties dance hit I Like To Move It, with a little help from her Monkey sidekick.

After her performance, James said: 'That was the best show we've had tonight so far.'

Phillips added: 'I have to crown you queen of the jungle because that was hot.'

The line-up was completed by Vanessa Feltz performomg to Cher's If I Could Turn Back Time - complete with revealing leotard - and newsreaders Ore Oduba and Sonali Shah dancing to Outkast's Hey Ya!

Last week, Canadian comic Katherine Ryan won a place in the final with her Nicki Minaj rendition; and in week one Tim Vine got through performing as Justin Timberlake.

The other finalists are a team of soap stars - Natalie Cassidy, Ricky Groves, Claire Sweeney and Dean Gaffney - as well as Coronation Street star Antony Cotton peforming solo.
