Alan Partridge movie 'due next year'

But the script is still being tinkered with

The long-awaited Alan Partridge movie is set to hit cinema screens next year, co-writer Armando Iannucci has revealed.

He said that Steve Coogan will start filming the film this year – but added that the script is still being tweaked,

In an interview with cinema magazine Empire, Iannucci said: ‘It's just about all come together now, so that it’ll be shot later this year.’

It currently has the working titled The Alan Partridge Movie, although Iannucci added: ‘We're always rewriting, rewriting and rewriting.’

The film will be directed by Declan Lowney, who previously worked on Father Ted, while Iannucci’s co-writers are Coogan, Peter Baynham, and Neil and Rob Gibbons.
