Omid Djalili dances into Let's Dance final

Thanks to the judges

Omid Djalili is through to the final of Let’s Dance For Sport Relief, thanks to the unanimous votes of judges.

He got through after his version of Public Enemy's Fight The Power went head-to-head with the unlikely triple act of Olly Murs, Scott Mills & David Hasselhoff dancing to LMFAO's Rock Party.

Kirsten O'Brien were sent home after the public vote, which was won by teen stars Dani Harmer - best known for playing Tracy Beaker - and Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey, so securing their place in the finals for their performance of Fat Sam's Grand Slam from Bugsy Malone.

Judges then had to decide between Djalili and Scott and Olly - who had Hasselhoff as a surprise guest.

Ed Byrne said: 'This is the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make, I’m afraid of losing the youth vote, but I think for the level of social commentary brought to interpretive dance, it’s Omid.'

Tim Minchin added: 'Scott put so much work in, and he looks like my hero Brian May. And they had the Hoff. But I think I’m going to have to go with Ed and make Omid do that once more'

And Katy Brand said: 'I too would’ve gone for Omid.'

Djalili - famous for belly-dancing in his stand-up shows- and the teenagers now join Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Miles Jupp, Terry Alderton and EastEnders actresses Tameka Empson and Laurie Brett in the live finals in two weeks' time.
