BBC radio seeks new comedy writers

...as topical show Newsjack returns

BBC radio producers are on the lookout for new comedy writers to contribute to a topical sketch show.

Newsjack, which returns to Radio 7 for a second series next month, is one of the few shows which accepts scripts for sketches and one-liners on spec.

The show – which is hosted by Miles Jupp and features Jess Robinson, Lewis MacLeod and Andi Osho in the cast – aims to be the ‘younger brother’ of Radio 4 programmes such as the News Quiz.

Two episodes from the last series are being repeated over the next two Sundays to give writers an idea of the tone of the humour.

The first show in the second series will be recorded on January 6 and broadcast the following day.
