Reeves and Mortimer take pay cut

Fees slashed to save BBC cash

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer say they have taken an 80 per cent pay cut worth to help the BBC slash costs.

They say they agreed to reduce their Shooting Stars fees to ensure everyone else they employ could keep the same salaries.

Mortimer told Christian O'Connell that ‘everyone's got to face up’ to the new financial situation, and he joked; ‘I'd have taken 90 per cent but the wife insisted.’

He won’t be short of cash, however, as he voices the Churchill car insurance dog.
