C4 unveils Comedy Lab line-up

Shows for Schaal, Whitehall and more

Channel 4 has announced the line-ups for its Comedy Lab pilots this summer, including shows from Kristen Schaal and Jack Whitehall.

Flight of the Conchords star Schaal will appear alongside comedy partner Kurt Braunholer in a TV version of her surreal internet series Penelope Princess of Pets; while Jack Whitehall's Secret Census will feature hidden-camera stunts to assess public attitudes.

The other programmes in the series are:

  • Filth. A sitcom set in a Nuts-style lads' mag, starring Danny Dyer and Tracy-Ann Oberman.

  • A sketch show developed in conjunction with the Funny or Die website.

  • Movie Mash, a parody of a film magazine show parody.

  • A sketch show for Irish impressionist Liam Hourican, who previously made an E4 pilot, Ape.

  • A flatshare sitcom tentatively titled Documates.
