Nick Hancock banned from driving

95mph offence brings him 13th licence point

Nick Hancock has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding at nearly 100mph.

He was disqualified after Perth District Court heard it was the fourth time he broken the limit in three years.

The 46-year-old comic was also fined £400 after police clocked his Volkswagen Touareg at 95mph on the M90 between Perth and Edinburgh on August 17.

His solicitor, Michael Stephenson, had asked that the court restrict any ban to seven days to avoid affecting his TV work.

But magistrate Barbara Briggs-Constable added four points to his licence, bringing him to a total of 13, making him liable for prosecution.

She added: ‘I don't have a note of his income but I would suggest it would be substantial and I will impose a fine of £400.’
