Aherne said to be writing new script

Caroline Aherne is reportedly working on a new Royle Family special.

She is said to be writing a follow-up to the 2006 episode, The Queen Of Sheba, about the death of Nana.

Aherne has recently agreed to start working with co-writer Craig Cash, and will appear in his new comedy, Sunshine, as a barmaid.

And once that is finished, she is expected to work on the new Royle Family script, according to The Sun.

An anonymous friend is reported as saying: ‘Caroline’s creative juices are flowing.’

No storyline has been revealed, but it is expected to be ready by Christmas.
