Iannucci plans big-screen venture
Armando Iannucci is reportedly planning a movie in the style of The Thick Of It.He is understood to be developing a script with the team behind the acclaimed BBC satire for the big screen. In The Loop will cover politics in both Britain and America, according to industry newspaper Broadcast.
Iannucci has an executive role in the BBC to develop new comedies – with forthcoming projects including the Chris Addison sitcom Lab Rats – and the film is being planned by the corporation’s film wing.
The corporation previously announced that its comedy and film departments would be working together to make movies inspired by its existing shows, under the auspices of executive Kenton Allen.
