Monday August 10

LONDON: As a founding member of the collective AIB (All India Bakchod), which emerged out of Vir Das's comedy nights, Rohan Joshi was one of the trailblazers of the Indian comedy scene. Now he makes a return to Soho Theatre following his run last August. His new show, Getting There (But Not Quite), about slipping into middle age, runs all week.

Tuesday August 11

LONDON: Sh!t-faced Shakespeare starts another residency at Leicester Square Theatre, this time taking on Romeo And Juliet with a pissed-up cast member. It runs until September 19.

Wednesday August 12

EDINBURGH: Cult comedian Kristen Schaal crosses the Atlantic to present her new play, The Legend of Crystal Shell for four nights at the Pleasance Courtyard, before an engagement at the Roundhouse festival in London on Monday. This tale of 'an extraordinary soul who has been hiding from the world because of a fantastic secret' also features her Bob's Burgers co-star John Roberts.

Friday August 14

SHEFFIELD: Kevin Bridges hits the road with Here If You Need Me, his first UK tour since the post-Covid Overdue Catch-Up tour, which ran in 2021 and 2022. Along with his earlier shows, Brand New Tour and A Whole Different Story, Bridges has sold more than two million tickets, including filling an incredible 63 nights at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro and SEC venues, the most by any performer in the venue's history. LONDON: Jack Rooke, creator of Channel 4's Big Boys, is bringing back Good Grief, the live show that launched his career, hitting the road in 2026 with a revamped version of his cult favourite — now subtitled 'a decade retrospective of capitalising on my dead dad to varied levels of failure and success'. It launches today as part of the ongoing Roundhouse Comedy Festival, followed by three nights at Edinburgh’s McEwan Hall at the end of the Fringe, before moving through Oxford, Salford, Bristol and onwards Jack Rooke tour dates.

HEREFORD: The Courtyard Theatre has erected a 1,400-capacity big top called The Amp, on site for the summer. Russell Howard is the first comedian to play it, kicking off his Don’t Tell The Algorithm tour here before it gets under way in earnest next month. Russell Howard tour dates. HALIFAX: Shibden Park, an historic landscape created by Anne Lister, inspiration for the Gentleman Jack TV series, is hosting an evening of stand-up. Laughter at the Lake is headlined by Russell Kane, who performs alongside Rich Hall, Josh Jones, Louise Young, and host Kyla Cobbler.

Saturday August 15

LETCHWORTH: Broadway Theatre hosts a splendid line-up tonight with TV's ​Joel Dommett, Radio 4 and Times Radio regular Geoff Norcott plus circuit stalwarts Lily Phillips and Steve Bugeja.

LONDON: A solid bill at the Hackney Picturehouse today is headlined by the ever-rising Chloe Petts, as seen on Have I Got News For You, alongside Pravanya Pillay, Sara Barron and Josh Weller.

LONDON: And a strong line-up, too, at Downstairs at The King's Head in Crouch End with circuit stalwart Adam Bloom, Welsh comic Jenny Collier, American stand-up Spring Day, as seen on Live At The Apollo, comedy dictator President Obonjo and more.
