Basil's back

Fawlty revived for corporate video

Basil Fawlty and Manuel have been reunited after 28 years – for a corporate video.

John Cleese, 67, and Andrew Sachs, 77, agreed to reprise their classic roles for Norwegian oil giant Statoil.

The training film shows their characters as they are now, more than a quarter of a century later, when Fawlty is running a restaurant called Basil’s Brasserie.

Sachs told The Sun: ‘Basil is creating havoc in a restaurant where the manager is even more incompetent than him.

‘I walk by and spot Senor Fawlty. He vaguely remembers me. It turns out I own a Michelin-starred restaurant in London. Basil is green with envy.’

The video is split into six episodes to teach Statoil employees about communication and risk assessment.
