Office outing

UK stars to appear in US version

British stars of The Office are to make an appearance in the hit US version.

Executive producer Ben Silverman has revealed that a forthcoming episode of the NBC sitcom would feature cameos from the BBC original.

But he refused to be drawn on the details – saying he didn’t want to spoil the surprise for fans.

‘There's a lot of love between the two versions of the show,’ he told The New York Post. ‘Expect some cameos from the UK paper company.’

He would not reveal which British stars would be making the trip from Slough to Scranton, Pennsylvania, where the US version is set.

But said it was unlikely Ricky Gervais would be among them, adding: 'We’re going to save the big man for now.’

Some of the British cast are already starting to become successful in the States in their own right. Mackenzie Crook stars in the Pirates Of The Caribbean blockbusters; Martin Freeman is known for his role in Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and Lucy Davis is beginning to land film roles, including providing a voice for the latest Garfield movie.
