Catherine lands new sitcom

Catherine Tate is to star in a new BBC Two sitcom about slacker flatmates.

She appears opposite Sketch Show star Lee Mack in the new comedy, Not Going Out.

The pair, who previously worked together on Mack’s Perrier-nominated Edinburgh sketch shows, play flatmates who ‘start to wander into uneasy ground as Kate nags Lee to get a proper job’.

The show also stars fellow Sketch Show alumnus Tim Vine as College – lee’s best friend and Kate's ex-boyfriend.

A spokesman said the show will ‘have you addicted as you watch Catherine, Lee and Tim struggle - as we all do - with love, friendship and the daily rituals of life’.

A one-off first episode of the sitcom is being recorded in Teddington Studios on October 2.

Free tickets to the taping have just been released via the TVRecordings website.

Mack is also taking over from Nick Hancock as host of comedy sports quiz They Think it's All Over from its next series.
