Reeves lands his own radio show

Vic Reeves is to become a permanent fixture on Virgin Radio, following a successful stint standing in for Suggs.

The comic will DJ his own show, Vic Reeves' Big Night In, every Wednesday and Thursday evening from September 21.

He landed the gig after successfully presenting the weekend Party Classics show to cover for Suggs’ holiday.

Reeves said: ‘I love Virgin Radio already. I will be like an ape in a confectioners.

‘have free rein and I intend to abuse it by talking to parishioners from all over the UK in dulcet tones with quizzes and all manner of nonsense whilst playing the finest pop in Christendom.’

Virgin Radio programme director Paul Jackson said, "I am amazed Vic has not had his own radio show before, and after hearing him standing in for Suggs, we had to find him a slot.’
