US duo scoop double act award

American physical comedy duo Pajama Men have been named the best double act on the  Edinburgh Fringe

Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez today  collected their £500 Dubble Act award  from Sue Perkins for their show, Stop Not Going, which judges described as “intelligent, articulate, wonderfully surreal and very funny”.

They had been nominated for the prize last year, when they performed as Sabotage, as well as making the Perrier best newcomer award.

Other nominees for the award were John Oliver & Andy Zaltzman, Penny Stubbs’ Party (Anna Crilly and Katy Wix), Toulson & Harvey, Fordham & Lipson and 13 O’Clock.

Judge Mervyn Stutter  said: ‘Pajama Men give us an extraordinary physical and spoken comedy act.  Although their show is very aware of the modern world it has a timeless, sometimes childlike quality.

“Here are two actor-comedians entirely comfortable with each other on stage and often improvising in front of us.”

The awards has previously been won by Laurence and Gus and Japan's Gamarjobat.
