Queen for a day

Kay to join rockers again

Peter Kay is to join rockers Queen on stage again – but this time fans will be ready for his appearance,

The comic and his Phoenix Nights co-star Patrick McGuinness made an unannounced appearance with the band at Manchester’s MEN Arena earlier this month.

The duo led a singalong of Is This the Way To Amarillo?, before Kay teased the band over its success, shouting: “Two more weeks and we will have beaten Bohemian Rhapsody's record.”

Now Kay is being billed as a ‘special guest’ on their last UK date of their current tour in London.

He’ll be joining the band – with former Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers replacing Freddie Mercury – at Hyde Park on July 8, with Razorlight in support. Click here for tickets.

Queen’s Roger Taylor also appeared on Kay’s acclaimed Comic Relief video to promote Amarillo, which ultimately fell a fortnight short of outlasting Bohemian Rhapsody’s stint at the top of the chart.
