Kay becomes a dad

Peter Kay has become a father for the first time.

His wife Susan gave birth to 7lb 3oz Charlie Michael at 9pm last night.

He was born by caesarean section in a hospital in Kay's home town of Bolton.

Kay said: "Susan and I are both over the moon. Mother and baby are thankfully doing very well."

The 30-year-old, who was yesterday named the second most powerful man in comedy after Graham Norton, met shop worker Susan in a club. They married three years ago.
