Proops to examine stand-up albums

Greg Proops is to record a second Radio 4 series dedicated to classic stand-up albums.

Over the four-part series, the American comic will examine the social and historical context in which each album was recorded.

The comics under the spotlight are Ellen de Generes; King of One Liners Henny Youngman; Jonathan Winters and pioneering black comic Flip Wilson, who fought racism throughout his career.

Comedy Album Heroes starts on Radio 4 on Tuesday June 17 at 11.30am.
